Databases of the Patent Office
of the Republic of Latvia


“TRADEMARKS” database contains information on trademarks filed with the Latvian Patent Office under the national procedure.
“DESIGNS” database contains information on both – industrial design patents, filed under the provisions of the 1993 Law on Industrial Design Protection, as well as industrial designs filed under the provisions of the 2004 Cabinet Regulations on Industrial Designs or under the 2004 Law on Industrial Designs. Information on designs that have been filed but are not yet registered does not contain pictures.
Access to databases is free. Databases always contain up-to-date information. The information obtained from databases has no legal force. To obtain official extracts from the State Register of Trademarks or the State Register of Industrial Designs please contact the Division of State Registers of the Trademark and Industrial Design Department of the Patent Office.

“REFUSED TRADEMARKS” database contains trademarks filed in Latvia or extended to Latvia, the registration of which has been refused in full (with respect to all applied goods or services) or in part (with respect to some of the applied goods or services) pursuant to the provisions of the Law on Trademarks of March 9, 1993 (LPZ/93) or the Law on Trademarks and Indications of Geographical Origin of June 16, 1999 (LPZ/99).

“APPEALS” database contains Decisions of the Board of Appeal in appeal cases that have been examined pursuant to the provisions of the Law on Trademarks of March 9, 1993 (LPZ/93), the Law on Trademarks and Indications of Geographical Origin of June 16, 1999 (LPZ/99), the Law on Industrial Design Protection of May 4, 1993 (DAL/93), the Design Law of November 17, 2004 (DL), the Patent Law of March 2, 1993 (PL/93), the Patent Law of March 30, 1995 (PL/95) or the Patent Law of February 27, 2007 (PL/2007).
“OPPOSITIONS” database contains Decisions of the Board of Appeal in opposition cases that have been examined pursuant to the provisions of the Law on Trademarks of March 9, 1993 (LPZ/93), the Law on Trademarks and Indications of Geographical Origin of June 16, 1999 (LPZ/99), the Law on Industrial Design Protection of May 4, 1993 (DAL/93), the Design Law of November 17, 2004 (DL).
